Keith: Yesterday I received the three brass match cases and could not be
more pleased. I have carried various match cases starting in the boy scouts
and continuing through my years in the Army, hunting, fishing and camping and
none compare with your product. The quality of your case far superior to any
case I have used or those on the market today.

I do have one suggestion. I noted in your little booklet that you stress the length
if the match must not allow the head to touch the plug. I fully understand the
reason for your cautionary note, but believe that if you were to add a wafer
of rubber to either the base of the plug (with glue) or better yet the bottom of
the tube and load the matches so the heads would face the rubber wafer it
would eliminate the potential of an accidental ignition. I believe the plug at the
bottom of the tube and the match heads loaded downward would be the bast
approach since it would avoid the eventual failure of a wafer glued to the plug.

You product is fantastic, so please accept my suggestion as something
that might provide an improvement to what is already a great outdoor tool.

Again, thanks for making this wonderful product.

Bill Goodman

Keith,
Of course you can post my note on your site.

Keith,

In my life I have owned a few things (VERY few things) that I consider to be
the best ever made of their type. These match cases are in that category.

I'll hang on to the Marble's matchsafe I've carried for more than 50 years as a
keepsake, but one of the K&M cases will be with me from now on.

Thanks,
Ralph DeCamp

I received my order yesterday and can’t be more pleased with #1)
the quick turnaround time and #2) the quality of the cases.

It’s nice to see people taking pride in their work and turning out a
quality made American product.

Thanks again,

Well we did our trip again, weather started out at +22.f with a good forecast
and we had a nice camp, and all of our holes drilled for fishing, things went
great!! Then the weather changed fast! We started to get a harsh n.w. wind
and driven snow, wind speeds went to 35-45 m.p.h. the temp dropped
to-24.f at this time we were on the lake, and ended up in a white out!
about 4:00pm I knew it would not let up, and ended up leaving a three mile
long lake using your excellent match case /compass heading due n./n.w and
landed at our camp off by only150-200 yds! The wind blew non stop full gail
for 32 hrs! when the wind finally ended the temp. plunged to -.37.f this trip
turned out to be a survival trip.. I'm just glad the tent stayed together
.. p.s no cell phone coverage and 18 miles of forest rd. just to get to pavement!!
We ended up hunkered down for the next day and a half because the weather
was to exreme to even attempt to get out!

Anyway, my buddy wants to order a short brass matchcase (told you so) and with
the order 4 extra lanyards, 4 sets of o-rings, and 4 extra rubber compass caps
please send me a quote with shipping to virginia, mn 55792, thank you, brent!!

You are more than welcome to use my letter on your site and if you need to
edit or combine the two letters that is fine because the stories are as true
as the day is long!! also if you do not mind I would like to post pics/story
of your fine matchcase on a VERY REPUTABLE forum, just let me know... thanks
again for a awesome survival product!!!

Keith and Marjorie
I just wanted to let you know that I received my matchcases today in the
mail. They are absolutely magnificent!! I can't wait to give the one to
my friend in Pittsburgh. I have no doubt we will be placing future
orders. We are both fans of any high quality product made in the USA and
your product most certainly sets the bar for excellence! My two year old
son is right next to me as I am typing this and I have no doubt that I
will be passing this on to him and his children. Thanks for making such
a great product and I wish you the best as you continue to deal with
your horrendous winter weather. Jim

Subject: My Match Case

Hi Keith and Marge.

Just wanted to send a note to you about your product.

I have an older model, Double O-ring, blue outer ring on the compass, red triangle for North, bottom marked "Troy ID USA", No name on the compass.

Not sure what year that equates to, but it has been in my kit for a pretty long time. I have often said I felt comfortable just about anywhere with nothing but your match case and a decent knife.

I use this case all year round. Camping all through the summer, kayaking year round and hunting in the winter. I have never had a situation where it failed. It has been dropped, immersed and left on the picnic table during downpours with no ill effects. I will be buying a few more in the near future as presents.

Thanks for providing such a robustly engineered product. Your attention to detail and function is much appreciated.

By the way, I am an ASQ Certified Quality Manager so I am well aware of what it takes to provide an item of this quality. To do so at this price point is nothing short of incredible.

Kindest Regards,

Carl W. Keller

Second post/msg 2: Tom Hellmich's first time ... regarding match cases and K & M match case.

October 6, 2006

Keith,

Thanks again for the K&M Fire Sticks and leather belt pouch.  What a great idea!  I will
use them on my next camping trip along with my matchcase.

Enclosed is a knife lanyard that I tied for you.  It is a different twist on carrying a compass
and fire starter together.  I keep my lanyard clipped to a Swiss Army Knife, which includes
a wood saw.  When together, the knife and lanyard make a very compact survival set.

Also, enclosed is the information on the SAS mini compass that we discussed.

Best regards,

"Somebody finally got it right."

K&M Matchcases
"I posted this reply in another thread that was asking about the quality of the Liberty Mountain (Olicamp) matchcase. I thought I would post my reply here as well...

For what it's worth, don't waste your time on any other matchcase except the one from K&M.
I'm a matchcase freak who has considered all of them and the K&M is by far the best on the market. The quality and workmanship is outstanding for the price. The design is simple and 100% reliable. The case body is machined from solid bar stock. And it's made is the USA!

I have two matchcases. One in brass which is heavy, but absolutely gorgeous and one in plain, brushed aluminum (not anodized) which is light, but still very tough. The plain aluminum matchcase had to be special ordered.

My brass matchcase is several years old and has a luminous Brunton compass. My new aluminum matchcase has a beautiful, blue faced, non-luminous Suunto compass. Both are very high quality and accurate.

K&M is now using O.D. military spec cord which is tighter woven than the old cord and doesn't seem to snag as easy on the case knurling.

If you order from their website the price is $19.00 plus $4.05 shipping. If you give Keith a call @ 208-826-3447 and order direct, the price is $15.00 plus $4.05 shipping. Not sure why.

Trust me, you can't go wrong with a K&M Matchcase!

Mr. and Mrs. Lunders,

Thank you very much for a very quality match case. I’ve looked high and low for a product even close to this, so this is even better than expected! I will carry a small survival kit in it every day while flying over Iraq – thank you for a product that allows me to do that confidently! Take care.

Sincerely,

Charles Eastman
